Write a single article and get loads of free traffic to your blog or web site Part 1 of II

For readers who have always doubted the power of well written articles as an online marketing weapon, I recommend this one article test. When I started off posting articles, I wrote
only one article and as ignorant and inexperienced as I was in those days, I still got some traffic and response from it.

Of course I have learnt a great deal since then. This is the knowledge you are about to receive in this article so that by writing only a single article, you will be able to receive
loads of traffic to your web site or blog. If nothing else,
this should be able to help you gauge how effective articles
will be for you in the long term.

Actually all you need to do is to observe these 4 simple rules.

1) Your headline is everything

Probably the most important thing to consider is your headline. Spend much more time on your headline than on the writing of
your article.

Here is a simple example to show you how important the
headline is. When you visit a site, even your favourite
site or blog, how do you decide what you are going to click
on and read? It is from the headline is it not?

The greatest article in the world will be useless if the
headline does not cry out to be read. This is precisely the
reason why an article I posted last week already has over
100 hits at one of the sites where I posted it and an
article I posted three months ago at the same site has
hardly managed 30 hits.

If you want a single article to have an impact for you,
you will have to come up with a headline that will
generate clicks, lots of them as people click to eagerly
read what you have to say.

As a matter of interest, this article you are reading
started out as an idea and my first headline was;

“How to use articles to get loads of free traffic”

How boring. There are so many similar headlines available
already on the net. Very few people would be interested
and it would not matter how good my content was, it
would just not get read by enough people.

Look at the final headline I arrived at (above) and
learn what I am trying to say here.

One word of caution; do not trick readers with a
catchy headline and then fail to deliver. Make sure you
can fully justify what you promise in your headline.

2) What do you want your readers to feel?

The next step is to write your article and before you
do so, you will need to decide what it is you want your
readers to feel after reading your article. Excitement
is good objective to have although it is difficult to
achieve. Still if you can manage it, it will show in
your traffic by the hundreds.

Curiosity is another strong human emotion to aim for
with your article, and much easier to achieve most of
the time. If you can make you readers curious and hungry
for more information, they will have no problem doing
what you ask them to do in your resource box.

When writing most of my articles, I start out with all
these objectives in mind as I focus on the particular
subject at hand. When I finish my first draft I usually
know which emotion I will go for or emphasize on as an
objective for the article.

Write a single article and get loads of free traffic to your blog or web site Part II of II

3) It will all happen, or fail to happen, in the resource box

If I usually spend a lot of time on the headline, I spend even more time on the resource box. I am constantly changing and improving on my resource box. It is the most important part of the article after you have gotten the reader to start reading.

You need to decide what it is the typical reader of your article wants most and then offer it to them in a convincing way. For example if you build web sites, saying in your article resource box that you are a very experienced web designer will not fly.

Saying that you have over 20 years experience building web sites is better, but the best would be telling your readers the exact number of web sites you have designed. You will always be much more believable by being specific. For example you can say (Your name) has designed 5,670 successful web sites in his 20 year career so far.

Finally in the resource box statement you will have what I call, your instructions. Your call-to-action to the reader. What you want the reader to do as soon as they are done reading your master piece.

“Visit my web site,” is too weak. “Get free templates from my web site,” is much better. Bear in mind that the idea at this juncture is not to sell, but to get the reader to seek for more information.

Remember that people who go fishing should never show the hook to the fish. That is a golden rule when writing an effective resource box.

You will find plenty of valuable tips on writing your resource box in my other article available at this link: http://marketingurhomebiz.blogspot.com/2005/05/your-article-resource-box-will-kill-or.html

4) Post, post, post, post

Finally for your single article to work in getting you loads of traffic, you will have to post it in as many web sites as you can. Do not attempt to use auto-posting software, it will only damage your reputation or at worst get you into serious problems for spamming. Do your posting manually.

Here’s how. Go to your favourite web site and do a search using the keywords that most identifies your target readers for the subject you have written about. This should give you the most popular sites. Use the results to do another search to find which of these web sites will accept article submissions. You do this by using the keywords “submit article".

Read my article on the site I post my free articles to that gives the best results by far. Find the article at this link: http://marketingurhomebiz.blogspot.com/2005/06/revealed-most-effective-internet.html

Even as the viral effect takes hold, as you post to as many web sites as you can, you will be speeding up the process. Keep track of your visitors by using a counter at your site (there are several good ones available for free online).

Yep. A single article can get you loads of traffic and revenue. But imagine the impact when you do several or many good articles using these rules?

Why every articles-marketing campaign must build an opt-in email list

By Christopher Kyalo
I will be totally honest and admit that I started building up an opt-in email list with my first few articles almost by accident. After the wonderful results I was getting receiving a regular flow of clients from doing what I enjoyed most- writing - I did not see any need for an opt-in email list. Especially in this day and age when most ISP filters will regularly block out most unfamiliar incoming email including email that you want, let alone advertising material from an opt-in list somebody has signed up for in a moment of excitement.

Then for some strange reason, one day, my regular stream of new clients suddenly slowed down to a trickle and then completely dried up. (it happens all the time on the net, especially if you do not have a high enough number of articles posted, but then almost as suddenly picks up again).

Since I had nothing else to do, I went to my auto responder and sent a short email to my small list of opt-in email addresses. I didn't expect much, expecting only bounces and undeliverable mail notifications. Which I inevitably got a few hours later.

But I was amazed because it was not the only thing I got for my efforts. Okay apart from the bounces (they were so many) there were one or two people who asked to be removed from my list as a result of this sudden activity. But there were a number of positive emails, some of which resulted in new business. BINGO, I had discovered something new and valuable.

Actually you should make sure that you use your opt-in list for regular emails and marketing activity, but that is the topic of another article, maybe the next one. Online businesses have a lot in common with the old bricks and mortar enterprises that we have known for a longer time. In fact a good strategy for understanding how to succeed online is to figure out the online equivalent of an offline tip that guarantees success. One of these bricks and mortar truths that applies online is the fact that the difference between a new struggling business and an older more prosperous one is simply the database of clients and prospects.

In most cases, unless the products have been totally rejected by customers, the larger this data base, the more successful the business is. And also the faster a business can build up this list of prospects and customers, the quicker it will grow and reach success.

This database of clients is of course known as an opt-in email list online and the same offline truths apply. When doing an articles marketing campaign it is absolutely crucial that your strategy includes a way of building up your very own opt-in email list, using the resource box at the bottom of your articles. There are various ways of doing this. The most effective is to offer valuable information via email. Something related to what attracts readers the most to your articles that will force some of your readers to write for more information. Read my article packed with valauble information and tips on how to compile the most efefctive resource box. Find the article at this link: http://marketingurhomebiz.blogspot.com/2005/05/your-article-resource-box-will-kill-or.html

(Plus explore the power of bulk email marketing)

Store this information in an auto responder (there are quite a number of free ones online) and your list will grow steadily with out too much input and work from you. Initially it will grow slowly but as you build up your number of articles posted online, it will start to grow at a faster rate, reflecting the growth of your online business.

How to make money from affiliate programs without spending a single dime on ads Part II of II

You start off by writing an interesting, informative article and then you post it at one web site complete with your full contact details in the resource box. Now the rules for free articles are that anybody can pick up your article and re-post it at their web site. So from a single web site, you may find that your article has been re-posted in dozens of other web sites within a very short time.

So let us assume that you started off with a batch of 10 well written informative articles and on average each one gets re-posted in about a dozen other sites. This means that you will now be having 120 hybrid ads (this is exactly what online articles are) out there where your prospects are bound to come across them.

Assuming that 5 prospects read your article every day, you will be enjoying traffic of 600 visitors per day. Not many web sites see that kind of traffic. And we have not even talked about the ezines and high traffic blogs or web logs that may find your article interesting enough to re-use.

Then there is something else to consider. Once your article is out there, the viral effect will continue for as long as your information is relevant which could be quite a number of years. And the existing articles will continue to get read and pull in traffic for your affiliate program for years.

That is the power of free articles.

To make your free articles marketing campaign effective, you will first need to carefully identify who your target market is. Once you have done this, you can use your favorite search engine to find relevant web sites. And then out of those web sites you will need to identify which ones allow free article submissions on their web sites.

To be really effective your articles will need to be well written and should address a pressing problem facing your target market of potential prospects.

If you learn how to use articles effectively, you can join as many high-revenue potential affiliate programs as you like without having to spend a dime on advertising.

Still, even if you are determined to invest some money into the affiliate program or programs that you have chosen, why not start with free articles first. Your program to speed up things with paid ads will then be much more effective later when you already have your foundation of free articles already generating traffic, leads and revenue.

How to make money from affiliate programs without spending a single dime on ads Part I of II

There is no doubt that the most successful group amongst online entrepreneurs are affiliates. Few are willing to go public about it but it is widely known that that there are a number of affiliates comfortably raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars in income every year.

Actually there is one very powerful advantage that online entrepreneurs involved in affiliate programs have over their counterparts earning from their own ecommerce web sites. And that is the fact that people are usually bound to believe a person referring another web site to them much more easily and quickly than one trying to promote their own site. This coupled with the fact that the Internet is an amazingly powerful referral marketing tool has made the rise of online affiliates phenomenal within such a short time.

But there is one major stumbling block that affiliates face today. And that is how to advertise their programs or how to generate enough sales leads. To be successful in any online venture a person needs numerous leads on an ongoing basis, that way they will have a chance of turning as many of them as possible into actual sales.

Many affiliates generate leads by finding ways of harvesting email addresses of visitors to their web sites to create an opt-in email list which they then use as leads to refer to their affiliate sites. This is usually done via special links to the sites that identify the particular affiliate through which a visitor arrived at a certain site.

The more prosperous affiliates use pay-per-click ads. The effectiveness of these ads is being eroded daily by the increasing number of fraudsters and scum artists who have invaded pay-per-click ads in droves. This has meant that out of the total click-throughs a person receives and has to pay for, an increasingly horrifying percentage are generated by fraudsters who have no intention of buying anything from the advertised web site.

That leaves one extremely effective form of online advertising that is in fact free. This is free articles posted at various targeted high traffic web sites.

The net is full of experts and many of them have been quoted as saying that articles alone are not enough to generate the sort of traffic that brings success. My advice is that people should not be too quick to comment on and pass sweeping judgment on subjects that they have only had brief experiences in. As you read this there are an increasing number of online entrepreneurs making serious money online using only articles as their marketing tool. Including the writer of this particular article.

The other thing that has caused many to doubt the effectiveness of articles is the fact that they are free. Free but effective? Does it not sound too good to be true?

Actually although using articles as a marketing tool is free, you will be required to spend time putting in lots of hard work consistently, to really reap the rewards. So there is a price to pay after all, although it is not in the form of hard cash.

In fact in many cases, used skillfully, articles can be much more effective than web sites in generating quality leads. Here’s how.

Is it possible to make a million dollars using only articles to promote your business?

By Christopher Kyalo

Here are two questions I get asked a lot about free articles as marketing tools.

Do articles really work in generating leads and bringing in business?

Can somebody make a million dollars by using only articles to promote their business?

Interestingly I get asked these questions by people who have heard about my services through one of my articles they came across. I am sure because there is no other form of marketing that I use. You would think that the fact that they got to hear about me and my services through the articles, in the first place, would give them a little more faith in this powerful form of online marketing and make them a little more confident.

Actually it is not that surprising when you consider that most people can hardly remember how they first came across a web site or business online.

While it is true that I stay in one of the less costly cities of the world (albeit away from my home country), I still have to support a wife, two children and a grandson. And I do it all from my online business.

You should also know that my income and leads generated through articles has been consistently growing at an increasing rate. That makes perfect sense because the facts are that as you increase the number of articles you have posted online and as the viral effect of your better articles getting re-posted all over the net takes place, the number of people exposed to your hybrid ads (that is exactly what articles posted on the net really are) increases dramatically. The inevitable affect of this is that you will get more leads and more business.

So the answer to the first question is YES.

The answer to the second question is also an emphatic YES. But I hasten to add that you will have to work very hard to reach that figure.

You will have to work very hard on the quality of your articles. And you will also have to be focused and focus all your articles, like a laser beam on a single subject, business and web site that you want to generate a million dollars for you.

For your articles to be really effective, they should strive to solve some pressing problem among your target market.
